Time to give a look into what I feel about my preliminary examinations.

English Paper 1
The story I wrote about "noise" is pretty bad in my opinion. Lack of nice descriptions, really disorganised storyline, abrupt ending, and a pretty bad lack of emphasis on noise. My story on "silence" was close to perfect. It was beautiful. I am proud of it. But this one is gross.

For my formal letter, I'm pretty worried that I wrote too much like a speech/argumentative essay. However, I argued my point pretty well that the first option was the best. Definitely very persuasive.

Social Studies
This one is bad. A really tough SBQ question, which is really not easy to understand. The picture had many meanings, and can easily be interpreted differently by different people.

SEQ was fine, but I didn't answer part (b) very well. I'll most likely only get about half the maximum marks for part (b). I also lost some time because I didn't separate section A and B, and had to copy 1 whole page across. Not my fault, the bloody exam paper didn't have any instruction to separate the sections. Or maybe its my fault? When Mr Firhad said "you are reminded to hand in sections A and B separately". I was like "WTF? Reminded? You didn't even say it in the beginning!" Did he?

Geography Elective
I think I owned the map reading question. The next 15 mark question was owned too. The next 25 mark question, I couldn't really think of enough points to write. Nonetheless, the damage done was minimal.

Chinese
Not retaking. Got C5 for my O-levels. As usual.

E-math 1
Easy as usual. Of course, I didn't know how to do those weird questions like the one about finding the value of k such that 168 is a perfect square (was it 168?). The cone question was weird too. And they supposed to bloody give us the formula for volume of a cone in E-math! I knew the formula anyway.

Biology Practical
My dumb eyes of mine saw the wrong time on the schedule, and I went for the wrong shift. So I went with the 2nd shift and I got an irregularity report. A pretty boring practical. Nothing much.

Physics
For some reason I feel really great about this. I managed to do this paper without any hesitation, without any stop. 90% of the questions were answered effortlessly. There were some doubts, but they were easily countered with common sense. Like the light ray question going through the lens. The top of the arrow of the object obviously goes to the top of the arrow for the image, so that's what I did. I was pretty surprised when I stepped out of the hall and everyone was complaining it was hard. O.o

A-math 1
I don't have a good feeling about this. Most of the questions I did somehow ended up with really weird answers. A fraction with a 3 digit number over a 4 digit number? I think I made a lot of careless mistakes. Most likely I lost all the answer marks but earned all the method marks. A-math should never ever be on a day with 2 papers. Brain dead. Couldn't think properly. Gaps here and there.

Future
Chemistry... gah. I'm a concept learner. Not a memoriser. Conditions for reactions? Equations for reactions? Solubility rules? Salt preparation? Specific polymers? QA? Are we able to understand and comprehend them? No. You just memorise. That's nice.

I guess that's why Physics and Biology is easier. Biology conceptual? Yes. Its not a memorising subject like everyone thinks. Biology works as a system, and you understand the system. You learn how it works and soon it all fits in nicely like a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. Same for Physics, you understand the system. There's calculations for Physics, but after some practise you'll realise its all the same repetitive stuff.
