Life:

It has been a really busy week, with 4 different tests. I actually didn't play at all on Monday and Wednesday. That's pretty rare for me. Anyway, the four tests were Physics, Social Studies, Chinese paper 1 and Chinese paper 2. I know I'll do well for Physics, it was pretty easy. I just got my Social Studies paper today, 16/26. Not too bad, not good either. I know I'm going to die for Chinese paper 1, I went off topic. As for Chinese paper 2, the same usual marks I should be able to get.

Cross country on Friday got cancelled due to the rain. It was a pretty relaxing day, with little things to do. I also got my class T-shirt on Friday, and I have to say it doesn't look too bad. Its quite nice actually. While 4D had this shirt with this ugly green colour.

Games:

I played a lot this week too, despite all the tests and work to do. On Thursday I played a 3v1 in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade against a "harder" difficulty opponent. It was a pretty crazy battle, with missiles flying everywhere and shockwaves from the Necron monolith sending puny Eldar units flying. Generally it was a good battle.

On Friday, I played 2 different matches with Samuel. First I had a 3v1 against the computer with the same settings as yesterday, but for some reason the battle was won in less than 10 minutes. Our computer ally rushed the enemy Necron really quickly, so that's why it was won so quickly. So, we decided to restart. A 2v1 this time. The results were horrible. The beginning of the game was fine, but after Samuel lost all his troops after attacking the enemy, he didn't build any units after that! He just went on looking at how cool those Chaos Predator tanks were, while I was furiously spamming immortals and heavy destroyers. The worst part is, guess what he said after we lost? He said: "You died?" OH MY GOSH! Samuel, as a veteran RTS gamer, actually doesn't know his ally died?

After that, Samuel and I had a 1v1 battle in Company of Heroes. It was a rather boring battle. Attack, defend, attack, defend. It was repetitive. I rushed his base with a crocodile sherman tank, and as a result he lost all his buildings, including his headquarters. However, I didn't win yet. I found out he hid some pioneers in some corner of the map. A few minutes later his first tiger tank appeared. I was happily spamming Sherman tanks. Somehow his tiger managed to reach my base. And the usual attack-defend stuff just happened. Then, at some point in time, he finally ran out of manpower to reinforce more tigers. That was the end of the battle. I won a 1v1 against Samuel, again. Want the replay? Here is is. "Click Me"(put it in C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\playback)

I just got the highly rated (9/10 reviews, game of the year) but oddly, unknown game, Homeworld 2. I will be doing a review on this odd mystery.

Its a perfect freehand circle?

Anyway, I just hung 22m of correction tape down my building. Collected it from 3 different sets of correction tape. 6m + 6m + 10m = 22m. I believe it went down 8 storeys. Lol. Pretty sadly, it didn't even last 2 hours before half of it broke off. Approximately 10 metres left I think.

I also joined a signature contest in Planet Rakion. The theme was 2K7, or 2007. 7 people joined the contest, and the current score is 3-1-2-2-2-0-0. Amazingly, my signature was the one which got 3 votes. I made a really simple and quick signature, but I guess simplicity is bliss. Here's what my signature entry looks like.

Savage: The Battle for Newerth

This interesting game I found a few weeks ago gives the gaming world a new twist. Its an RTS and FPS combined. How does this work? Its simple. One person will only play the RTS part of the game, taking the role of a commander, doing the usual things you would do in an RTS game. The rest of the players take the FPS role. This FPS role is actually being the units in the game itself. The commander will be able to give you commands, but of course, since the unit isn't AI controlled, the unit might not necessarily obey the order =). Whatever upgrades the commander researches, the FPS player would receive, and it is open for use or to buy. The commander is also responsible for building buildings, defence towers, and also to gather resources with the few AI workers available.

There are two races, Human and Beast. Humans have a wide array of technology and equipment like siege weapons, while the beasts wield devastating magic, with one cool and special unit: the behemoth. This behemoth is something like the cave trolls you would see in Lord of the Rings. Big, huge, and they wield a tree as a weapon.

The main objective of this game is to destroy all the buildings the enemy has. This requires teamwork from the team, and lots of gold and upgrades.

The graphics aren't that great. The sound isn't that great either. The sound doesn't have much realism in it, and from what I remember, there isn't any music.

If you have played Warcraft 3, something interesting you would notice as you play Savage is the similar sounds and some icons that they have. Using the bow in Savage would also remind you of Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.

This game used to be pay to play, but it has been released for free now. A new development is Savage 2, which is pay to play. Maybe when Savage 3 comes out Savage 2 will out be for free.

So it was BB day yesterday. The usual stuff happened, we had to wear our BB uniforms to school. I was really forgetful yesterday. I forgot about 3 things in a short 30 minute span. First, I forgot to take the key after locking the door to my house. Then, I left my BB cap in the locker. So I went back to take it, and I left it on the ledge above the lockers. Lol. Anyway, at least I found out about everything quickly and nothing got lost. It was a rainy day, so parade was great. Didn't have to do much. Good news, I don't have to be the squad leader anymore. Less work for me =)

Hmm I still haven't done that review on Savage yet. I'll do it in the coming week.

Its been after 4 days of school already. I got new teachers for Physics, A-Mathematics and Chemistry. The A-Math teacher was pretty scary because she is pretty fierce. Looks like we can't laze around like what we did when Mrs Quek (did I spell that right?) was around. For the first 3 days of school, it was relatively peaceful because all the counsellors were busy helping out with the Secondary 1 orientation. An irony, isn't it? Counsellors are supposed to create peace and order, and I feel that its actually a lot more peaceful without them.

My current CCA points stand at 18. I need 2 more points for A2, which will give me 2 bonus points. 1 point from participation in Secondary 4 will definitely be given. The problem is where I am going to get that 1 more point. I can't get anymore points from my achievements because there's a cap at 8 points. I joined SGB in Secondary 1 for 1 day, which gives me 12 hours for my CIP. That wasn't recorded. Therefore, I'm going to clarify with my teacher, and I might get that 1 point from it. I wonder if Maths Olympiad gives 1 point. I'll ask about that too.

I found this game called Savage, which is a RTS/FPS game. Its pretty interesting and unique, so I'll be doing a post on that soon. Looking around, I am starting to see MMORPG's which are starting to change their fighting system. No more point and click to fight anymore. It seems fighting will entirely be controlled, with every single move and action made by the player. This means it'll be something like Rakion or any FPS/TPS fighting game. Interesting. The problem is that when a specific skill is deemed the best or most efficient, the player would just use the game attack combo again and again, which still doesn't solve the repetitiveness of MMORPG fighting.

Well, its finally... wait, I shouldn't use the word finally. Let me start again.

Well, its unfortunately the new year 2007. Its the year where a serious and rather scary exam is approaching. Fortunately, CCAs end even earlier this year. I should be in media editing pictures and videos, making people look nice, giving them elephant noses and rendering things. Ah well, at least its just 5 more months. I guess Miss Lim will be saying the same things she said on the previous years, and most likely the first period will be taken up, which is good because its Chinese. Still stuck with my class, which isn't good because I don't really like them. I was hoping for a little mix between the E and F classes.

Ah, boring. Bye.
