Its been almost three months since I’ve given any update on what’s been going on in my life. Well, as always, nothing much. What I’ve said in the previous update mostly stays true even till now, but of course, there’s bound to be a few changes.Well, first of all, we now have three more board games to play in camp. Settlers of Catan, Puerto Rico and Carcassonne. All very good games, but personally, I like Carcassonne the most. Simple yet complex, it’s straightforward so its not too mind-boggling. Settlers of Catan feels like Monopoly after playing it a number of times. Someone just dominates the whole game, and the other players just can’t do much to catch up. The winner is already known halfway through the game. Granted, this doesn’t happen all the time, but its bad enough. Puerto Rico supposed to be good, but I guess my experience of playing the game is pretty marred by new players who take ages to complete their turn.
Anyway, if you’ve been following me on Twitter or Facebook, I guess you probably know by now that I’ve got this three month status that excuses me from IPPT, RMJ, No. 4, outfield training and dusty environments. I’m also waiting to get a downgrade for my medical status, so as of now, life is going to be a lot more sedentary. I’m also glad that I’m excused IPPT, because that’s like one of the worst things to me. I mean, have you seen the horde of people who go to those IPPT camps everyday? I can’t imagine going to camp just to exercise after work, when I can instead go home and chill out.
One thing I’m pretty sad about though, is whether or not I’ll ever be able to experience artillery live firing. I mean, come on, I’m not in the infantry. I’m in the freakin’ artillery man. It’s an experience few people get to have.
One more thing. People in my battery aren’t allowed to bring our entertainment devices now. No more MP3s, PSPs, DSes, blah blah. There’s been a lot of theft going on. Money goes missing, four Wii controllers go poof, and just recently someone’s iTouch vanished. So, now there’s no Wii to play with, and no PSP. Great. Now I can only read books and play board games. Sigh.
Seriously, these two years are a waste of time.
