So you've probably seen the recent updates that I posted on Facebook/Twitter. So why the recent hate for my unit after being in there for approximately 5 months? That's what this post is going to explain.

Well, the Artillery Road Relay happened this Monday, and basically everyone in all the different artillery units met at Khatib camp for the event. So yeah, I met friends and course mates there, and that kind of made me feel really horrible because in my opinion, I went to the worst unit possible. Meeting everyone just made me think about everything all over again. You start to compare, and that's when shit starts to hit the fan.

After my artillery course I could go to 20SA, 21SA, 23SA, 24SA or AI. Few would say that AI is a bad posting. Office work, stay-out, clean and new facilities make that place awesome. I heard that the people in 23SA have PS3 and Wii in their bunk. Read that again, their bunk, not the mess. I don't know much about 24SA, but its in Khatib camp, and that alone just makes it awesome. Just compare Khatib camp to Kranji camp, taking into consideration the cleanliness and location, Khatib wins hands down. 20SA could have been worse than 21SA, but guess what? If I were posted there, I would be posted to 3DIV HQ since 20SA is closing down. 3DIV HQ is a stay-out place.

If being in the worst unit possible doesn't make things bad enough, I think I have the worst posting among my course mates who were posted there too. 6 of us went to 21SA. 4 of them went to the HQ, and life is good there even though they can't return to bunk to sleep. Another went to Bravo battery, and from an outsider's point of view, they have a lot of welfare, in terms of gaining off days and booking out early. So I ended up in Alpha battery.

Should I describe my life in Alpha battery to you guys? You guys would probably bitch and say I'm a retard for complaining. But there's a twist, and I'll explain that twist later on. Here's how my life has been for the past 5 months.

Wake up at 5:50am, go for breakfast, sleep from 6:30am till about 8am (sometimes 9am, sometimes 10am), go to the office, organize the office so it isn't so messy, sit somewhere in the office, read the newspapers, go for lunch, sleep some more, go to the office, sit around and watch sergeants make a fool of themselves, go for dinner, and then its free time for me. And just saying that just makes it sound really screwed up. "Free time for me". Well what that really means is that the others finally have free time for me. So I can play board games with them and just recently, Dungeons & Dragons. My field pack and boots are covered in dust and laden with cobwebs. I haven't been outfield at all, and I haven't taken a single IPPT test since I've been there. Sounds good eh? Or not. I'm going to get a heart attack from the oily food and lack of activity there.
Well, here's the twist. This coming Monday, we're going to have a new sergeant major. And I am as sure as hell that he isn't going to let me have this life. First of all he's not going to let us sleep in bunk before last parade. Second, he seems really against having people left behind in bunk or the office, and he wants everyone to just go to the garage. I have no idea how he's going to manage that with my "excuse dusty environments" status.

That's why I'm desperate to get out of my battery. Honestly, I'm really sick of all this. Having such a life sounds extremely appealing at first, but seriously dude, time passes as if a snail is powering the gears of the clock. I'm freakin' all alone. Why the hell does the battery even need an FOGA? If someone as introverted as me can feel sick from this solitude, imagine if its someone else *shudder*. Man if I was put in a proper office with office workers who stay there with me all the time that wouldn't be so bad.

Ah what the hell. FML. Must. Get. Out. Then again getting out of a unit is near impossible. I can always try to complain that the whole damn camp is dusty though. Post me to a clean camp like Khatib camp. LOL. FML.

You know, the army really scares me. But its not in the way that you might think. Let me explain in a quick way.

1. Passive smoking.
2. Oily food.
3. Dusty areas.
4. Lack of physical activity. I get more exercise in school.
5. Lack of mental activity. As a result I can't remember anything and I can literally go "brain-dead" (not think of anything at all, really, nothing at all).
6. Bad English.
7. Doing absolutely nothing productive.
8. Have you heard? I haven't spoke to a girl my age for a year. I'm not kidding at all. When I say "spoke" to a girl, I mean actually hearing their voice, and them hearing mine. Well, I do admit its partly my fault.
9. Army makes people gay. Not healthy.
10. What's with people and spitting everywhere imaginably possible?

Well, that's all I can think of now. You notice I keep saying that lately? See point 5.
