Sometimes I really feel like changing to a different Church or something. To give you a bit of background information, I go to Jubilee Presbyterian Church, which is a church somewhere off Outram Road. Its started off as a Chinese church, but now they've added a bilingual service, where they translate the sermon after each sentence, and worship songs are in both English and Chinese.

Anyway, now that you know that, I'm pretty sure you can guess one of the reasons why I don't really like staying in this church. I don't like the "Chinese factor" that's present in the church. The church is supposedly over a century old, so there's a very large elderly population in the church, and most old people speak Chinese. The fact that they have to translate the sermon is also really annoying, since they practically repeat every single sentence said in another language that 95% of the people in the auditorium understand. It drags the sermon unnecessarily, and it kind of lessens the concentration you have.

The next reason is that I think the sermons make absolutely no sense at all. Ok, maybe absolutely is too strong a word, but I don't see how the sermons are relevant at all. They talk about stuff in the Bible, but I don't see any connection between what they're preaching, and what it has to do with us. I know not all sermons have to have some sort of moral to the story or a guidance or assurance, but this has been going on for the past three or so months, and its bugging the hell out of me. I can't really give an example now, because I tend to filter out information that doesn't make sense to me.

I also haven't really been going to Youth Ministry, mainly because of inconvenient timings and such. I don't really like Youth Ministry anyway, since I feel its rather badly coordinated and I don't really like the people there.

So there, as you can see, I'm not very happy with my church. There is actually another reason, but its a silly reason. I have to wake up at 9am, and because of that, I'm always more tired on Sundays than on any other days. The main reason is the sermons, and I honestly think the sermons in school are better. I miss chapel in school actually.
