I'm moving there. I feel that Blogger is not keeping up with the times, and that its functionality is very limited.

Physics teacher asked us one Math question today. Its not those kind of stupid Math questions you often find in worksheets and examinations, so that's cool.

So he asked, is 1=0.99999999999...?

So apparently one person in my class proved that it is correct long ago. Here's his reasoning.

1/3 = 0.333333333...
1/3 times 3 = 1
0.33333333333... times 3 = 0.9999999999...

So since
1/3 times 3 =1 and
1/3 equals to 0.3333...,
1 = 0.9999...

But I have this other way of seeing things, and its more analytical than Mathematical.

If two numbers are equal, then the difference between the two numbers should be 0.
For example, if 1=1, 1-1=0. Or if 10=5x2, then 10-5x2=0. Simple reasoning.

If 1=0.9999... , then 1-0.99999... or 0.99999...-1 should equal to 0. But the answer is 0.000000...1. So 1 is not equal to 0.99999...

Don't tell me that 0.0000000...1 is so small that we should take it as 0. The number of zeros in 0.000000...1 is infinite, with the number 1 always staying there, which makes it a number that isn't zero. I don't care if that number is smaller than the smallest thing on Earth, the fact that there's a 1 somewhere infinitely at the back means it is bigger than 0. I can say the same the other way round. The number of nines in 0.999... is infinite, there is never a 0 that is after the infinite number of 9s so it can't be 1.00000...

And since I can't prove any of them wrong, I'll take it that its unsolvable. I choose to go against the swarm of proofs that 1=0.9999... that's found on the internet until someone proves my theory wrong.
--------
Anyway, I just spent like 1 hour reading about this on the internet. It seems about 90% just accept that they are equal. It also seems that the only proofs are all Mathematical. What happened to simple logic of numbers and space?

Let me show you how my theory is irritatingly disproved.
Pretend this quote is answering my theory.
"If such infinities exist in your number system, you are right.

However, the real numbers are defined to not contain such "Infinite 0.1" and thus, we must replace this with 0, making them equal."

So just because the Mathematicians in the past defined and stated that infinity is undefinable, I have to accept this crap?

Anyway, read if you want. Its the best discussion I've found so far, with balanced viewpoints and few people who just spam the usual proofs (like the 1/3 thing I posted above).

And geez, if Math was like this, I might love it.

Anyway, on to my life.

Went for the 3ds Max animation thing yesterday again. Now I got some screenshots.

The first picture with some random person with random objects scattered around was done last week. The ones with the wine glass was made yesterday. I tried to make something not so ordinary and boring. People say it looks unique. Sure it does.
