I went to Paragon on Sunday and I saw this. Apparently there's a projector on the roof and it projects this thing on the floor, and you can interact with whatever is on the floor. Some crazy kids are playing soccer there. There's also a froggy game, hockey game, step on kangaroos game, many other funny stuff.

I sense Minority Report coming in the near future.

Time to give a look into what I feel about my preliminary examinations.

English Paper 1
The story I wrote about "noise" is pretty bad in my opinion. Lack of nice descriptions, really disorganised storyline, abrupt ending, and a pretty bad lack of emphasis on noise. My story on "silence" was close to perfect. It was beautiful. I am proud of it. But this one is gross.

For my formal letter, I'm pretty worried that I wrote too much like a speech/argumentative essay. However, I argued my point pretty well that the first option was the best. Definitely very persuasive.

Social Studies
This one is bad. A really tough SBQ question, which is really not easy to understand. The picture had many meanings, and can easily be interpreted differently by different people.

SEQ was fine, but I didn't answer part (b) very well. I'll most likely only get about half the maximum marks for part (b). I also lost some time because I didn't separate section A and B, and had to copy 1 whole page across. Not my fault, the bloody exam paper didn't have any instruction to separate the sections. Or maybe its my fault? When Mr Firhad said "you are reminded to hand in sections A and B separately". I was like "WTF? Reminded? You didn't even say it in the beginning!" Did he?

Geography Elective
I think I owned the map reading question. The next 15 mark question was owned too. The next 25 mark question, I couldn't really think of enough points to write. Nonetheless, the damage done was minimal.

Chinese
Not retaking. Got C5 for my O-levels. As usual.

E-math 1
Easy as usual. Of course, I didn't know how to do those weird questions like the one about finding the value of k such that 168 is a perfect square (was it 168?). The cone question was weird too. And they supposed to bloody give us the formula for volume of a cone in E-math! I knew the formula anyway.

Biology Practical
My dumb eyes of mine saw the wrong time on the schedule, and I went for the wrong shift. So I went with the 2nd shift and I got an irregularity report. A pretty boring practical. Nothing much.

Physics
For some reason I feel really great about this. I managed to do this paper without any hesitation, without any stop. 90% of the questions were answered effortlessly. There were some doubts, but they were easily countered with common sense. Like the light ray question going through the lens. The top of the arrow of the object obviously goes to the top of the arrow for the image, so that's what I did. I was pretty surprised when I stepped out of the hall and everyone was complaining it was hard. O.o

A-math 1
I don't have a good feeling about this. Most of the questions I did somehow ended up with really weird answers. A fraction with a 3 digit number over a 4 digit number? I think I made a lot of careless mistakes. Most likely I lost all the answer marks but earned all the method marks. A-math should never ever be on a day with 2 papers. Brain dead. Couldn't think properly. Gaps here and there.

Future
Chemistry... gah. I'm a concept learner. Not a memoriser. Conditions for reactions? Equations for reactions? Solubility rules? Salt preparation? Specific polymers? QA? Are we able to understand and comprehend them? No. You just memorise. That's nice.

I guess that's why Physics and Biology is easier. Biology conceptual? Yes. Its not a memorising subject like everyone thinks. Biology works as a system, and you understand the system. You learn how it works and soon it all fits in nicely like a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. Same for Physics, you understand the system. There's calculations for Physics, but after some practise you'll realise its all the same repetitive stuff.

Since its so boring and there's nothing to talk about, I'll talk about this weird drawing on my Biology sketchbook.

I lost my Biology sketchbook last year. I didn't even realise I lost it until someone found it and returned it to me. I haven't thanked you yet, so, thanks Jessica. Losing your notebook can be one of the worst things to ever happen.

A few minutes later I found this on the last page of my sketchbook.

The tiny scribble at the side reads: you are an ass! =)

Till now I don't know who drew that, but it looks pretty nice. I like it actually. Lol.

I've easily spent more than 5 hours last week and this week experimenting with new blogskins, changing their codes to my preference, and also to add some other stuff to make the skin even better. If you've been visiting my blog from the very start and is sharp enough, you'll find this design closely similar to the first skin I used, because its from the same designer. I might change more, but I think this is the best I can do. I'm still deciding if I should put in some coding so that the title at the top of the browser will be scrolling from right to left.

I've also put in a playlist in my blog. My choice of songs... non-rock. Rock to me is just noise (sorry to rock fans). Very few rock songs actually sound like music. I don't focus on music trends either. If they're nice, then they'll be in. Canon in D is in there, who doesn't like it?

I won't be doing any reviews for the next 2 months or so. Exams are coming, and I'm breaking down. I've said before, I've never studied so much before. Habits and body cycles don't change easily.

I got C5 for O-level Chinese and pass for oral by the way. A B would be my ideal grade, but I guess C5 is ok. I've never seen an A for Chinese for the past 6 years anyway.

There's this new game called "Darkness And Light", which is going to be released by Asiasoft. Its a very good copy of Defence of the Ancients (DotA). Closed beta just started 2 hours 21 minutes ago and I'm in it.

Its the orienteering thing today. Because I had a crazy team, I had to run everywhere along with them. Ended up 6th (timing), but our crappy score of 83 didn't win us anything. It would have been great if everyone after 10:45 got disqualified. LOL.

A lot more fun than I expected this event to be. The running felt... odd. It seemed to make me feel pretty good. Maybe I'm changing. I used to hate running around. I hit some woman pretty hard while I was running. First, the bloody ez-link card machine didn't let me in the first try, the rest of my team was in the train already, and I was still pretty far. I just charged and hit her. Nothing happened though. Anti-climax.

Oh yeah, Cuifen and I got separated with the group. The MRT train door closed on us. Lost about 10 minutes there. The silly words and logo on the back of the orienteering shirt... I keep reading it as discovering your oots. My Mom couldn't figure out what it was either. Pretty obviously its a bad and crappy design. The Sec 1 guy was the tallest person in the group, and I'm the 2nd tallest. Shorty group.

Only 1 person reads my blog. Zzz. What the heck.

This preliminary exam and O-level thing is driving me crazy. I'm forcing myself to study from after school till 6 pm everyday, and I'm going crazy. I have never forced myself to study so much before. Heck, I've never studied more than 10 hours a week before.

This is my lifestyle for the past 9 years. Reach home from school, homework, then its playtime! Studies only came a few days or 1 week before exams. How, the heck, am I supposed to have this sudden change and sustain this studious attitude for the next 2 months? The crazy Math teachers throw tons exam papers for us to do, and there's practically not time to study for other subjects.

I can't believe I'm going to go through this crap again in two years time. That's going to be worse.

At least there's lots of games to look forward to after this. I've added a "My Anticipated Games" list on the sidebar if you had noticed.

I've started playing Gunz again. About 3 years since I played it, I seem to own more than before. I'm playing the North American version from ijji, as it has more updates than the international version. I set aside 6-10pm to destress by the way.
