I'm moving there. I feel that Blogger is not keeping up with the times, and that its functionality is very limited.

I have no idea what's going on lately, but I've been plagued by decisions. Okay, so most of the decisions were started off by myself, but this one isn't.

As you might know, I've been downgraded to C9L9 in the army, and since I'm in the battery line (artillery calls their companies batteries), there's really not much use for me there since most of the things done there are:

1. Physical work.
2. Work I'm not trained in
3. Work in dusty garages.

Well, I'm currently the Sergeant Major's Personal Assistant, but he really doesn't need me. I'm just here to make his life easier. Well that's what a PA is supposed to do, but what I mean is that the work he gives me can effectively be done by himself without being overworked. I just give him extra time to chill. I've recently brought up the idea of revocation to him, and it seems that they have heard my complains of rotting away in the battery since I'm doing nothing at all.

Anyway, that's not the point.

I've been offered two options, either to get revocated and get posted out to S1, or if S1 doesn't need me, to another unit. The other option is to stay where I am right now, and the main attraction about that is that my Battery Commander (commonly known as the OC) has told me that he's able to just let me do nothing if I stay.

So, one of the options looks absolutely awesome and attractive. Who wants to do work anyway? The problem is, after the first week of September, there will only be three people in the battery left. I think 1 new guy is coming in, so that makes 4. After the end of October, only me and the new guy will be left. Do I really want to stay in a place with only 1 other guy? It's going to be as boring as hell. Okay, so maybe he might be the most awesome guy I've ever met, but till he comes, I'm not going to know.

Okay, so let me list out the pros and cons of both options.

Getting revocated:
+1. I get to meet more people so life wouldn't be so damn dull.
+2. There's work to do so time passes faster.
+3. I might have the chance of going to a better unit, be it location, people, or camp conditions.
+4. I think work is almost guaranteed to end at 5:30pm everyday.
+5. I learn a bit of office work, like e-mail etiquette, documentation procedures, and how to use OpenOffice (though no one else really uses this).
+6. Computers with Internet access are at the HQ.
-7. There's work to do.
-8. Who knows what camp I'll end up in. I might end up in Tekong. Lol.
-9. Kranji Camp MO's are really lenient, though this only applies if I leave the unit.
-10. I lose the protection and favour of my Sergeant Major.
-11. There's duty to do, and that includes weekends.

Staying:
+1. There's nothing to do, so I get to chill everyday when I'm in camp. Sleep a bit more in the mornings when I book in, study a third language, programming or whatever.
+2. Hopefully I'll be allowed to use my PSP during office hours. Then I'll be able to watch movies and TV programmes. Then my weekends and weeknights can be used for other activities.
+3. No regimental duties.
-4. I'll be as lonely as hell.

I think the real deciding factor is whether or not I want to be free but lonely, or working with a bunch of friends. What shall I do? Sigh.
