You know what really grinds my gears? People who give that "you can do it better?" argument whenever someone starts to criticize something or someone. Let me elaborate.
Once in a while, someone would criticize and give their opinions about something, be it food, design, or physical appearance. So the criticism continues, argument commences, and then you'll see it. That one person who decides to bring out that sentence. "So you think you can cook better food?" "So you're really handsome/pretty?" "So you can make better designs?" You know what's worse? The people who comment after that happens will back that person up, thinking that it's a perfectly fine argument.
I mean, where's the logic in that? Do I have to look like Barbie or Ken to say that someone looks horrible? If that person looks horrible, then that's how it is. It's fair, it's valid, it's factual, and there's nothing that's going to change that unless he or she goes for plastic surgery.
Food. I never knew that I have to be a fantastic cook to be able to voice out my opinion that a certain food is horrible. Apparently if I'm unable to cook, I'm unable to know that the food is too sour, too salty, too bland, too oily, etc.
I'm pretty sure all the critics and reviewers out there aren't experts at doing what they're reviewing. Surely all the movie reviewers out there didn't win a Golden Globe for being a director.
I'm not going to continue with more examples. I'm sure you get it. Or are you one of them? There's no logic in this argument at all.

Welcome to "Time To Be An Asshole", where I become an asshole. I'm not sure if I'll be doing more of these. I definitely could, I have some ideas.Well, I become an asshole by my own definitions, because I think that what I'm going to say is rather anti-social.
Main topic: A-level results.
You can probably guess what I'm going to say already. Yep, I'm one of those assholes who do well in examinations and still bitch about it. LOL. Here's my results:
H1 General Paper: B
H1 Geography: A
H2 Mathematics: A
H2 Chemistry: B
H2 Physics: B
H1 Chinese: S
H1 Project Work: A
I also have to add that I got into the course of my choice in NUS.
But why am I not happy with my results? I don't have a straightforward answer, but I can think of a number of reasons.
Maybe it's because I see Secondary school friends who did as well as me in the O-levels do much better than me in the A-levels. In fact, they pretty much got straight A's.
Maybe it's because when people in my Battery in the Army ask what my A-level grades are, they say "all A's ah?" before letting me answer.
Maybe it's because I've got this really retarded friend who can't open medicine bottles or instant noodle packages, and he takes pretty long to tie his shoelaces, but he has straight A's.
Maybe it's because I've failed my expectations for Physics for the second time. A1 for O-level preliminary examinations (top in the level too), then A2 for the actual O-levels. A for the A-level preliminary examinations, then B for the actual A-levels.
Maybe it's because half of my school got an A for H1 General Paper.
Maybe it's because I didn't listen in Chinese class, and didn't bother with the homework. I could have at least passed.
Maybe it's because I took a look at the 10th percentile for my university course for the 2010 intake (ABB/B), and realized that I'm most likely at the 15th or 20th percentile of the course, which pretty much sucks.
Do I have regrets? Nah, I won't say that I do. I got into the course I wanted, so I'm not going to mope around about it. Am I happy with my results? No.
So there you go, that's me being an asshole to all you people out that who didn't do so well.
