Remember the picture of the melted dustbin I posted in January? Well, here's a new dustbin, complete with solidified melted plastic on the ground around it.

Anyway, I've managed to kick off one game from the list of games I have to play, and that's because the game is kind of crappy. Its Worldshift. Actually the main reason why I got rid of it is because I got stuck in a mission. I think they missed out a action trigger in the mission or something, it doesn't continue. The way the missions play is also really stupid. Worldshift is an RTS game, but instead of using real strategy, time lets you complete missions. You need a lot of patience to be able to win. Most of the time I find myself staring at the health bars of the enemy, watching it sloooowly trickle down. They need to speed things up. Ah, whatever. Crappy game.

I shall complete Red Alert 3: Uprising before Monday. Full-scale gaming commences on Thursday.

Ah well, crappiness of life. Anyway, here are two videos. The XBox advertisement is pretty cool, and the "Fall of Liberty" video is funny if you see how it bends down.

If you want to read the comments for the "Fall of Liberty" video (which I think you should), here it is:

Hmm, for some reason, I suddenly have quite a number of games to play, and they are mainly PSP games. Too bad I have to have crappy exams on Monday. Well, lets see what games there are to play.

If I want to make the list longer, I can add in Runes of Magic and Battlefield Heroes. But those two games can't be completed and has the potential to last forever, so I won't count it in. You might be wondering what the heck is Worldshift. Well, its just some RTS game I saw in Digital Life. It got a score of 7 or 8. Decided to get it because I haven't had a new RTS game that's fun since Dawn of War: Soulstorm. Red Alert 3 is the newest RTS I've played, but honestly speaking, it doesn't pack a punch.

At least I've completed Patapon 2, and there *will* be a Patapon 3. The story isn't complete yet. I still stick with my verdict that Patapon 1 is better than Patapon 2.

I'll be installing Red Alert 3: Uprising tomorrow. I hope to knock off a few games off that list by the time the exam week is over.

And check out what's happening in ACJC on April Fool's Day.

Well, what do you do when you're bored and in the library?

You stack up cubes to form a tower! (With a random bean bag somewhere at the top.)

Now doesn't that pink sauce look totally revolting?

Patapon 2 just got released in the English version a few days ago. To be honest, I just came across the game, and did not actually look out for it. Anyway, since I get to play the sequel just a few weeks after I completed Patapon 1, of course I'll get it.

Interestingly, you get to load the save game file from Patapon 1 into Patapon 2, so most of the things that you have in Patapon 1 is transferred. That allowed me to have a great boost in the early game, and so I completed 21 missions out of 45 missions in just two days.

So, I'm sure you want to know whats the differences between the two, and which one I think is better. Well, Patapon 2 adds in more commands, more mini-games, more materials, more Patapon evolutions, as well as a hero mode. There's also a few minor improvements here and there, such as a better menu, music, pictures, blah blah.

With the introduction of hero mode, I believe the game's difficulty has been increased slightly. Basically hero mode is a superpower that will be activated for one or two sets of beats if you manage to get a perfect combo for one set. All this is going to sound rather technical, especially if you have only a vague idea of how the game is played, so too bad. Meh.

Anyway, what I think is that Patapon 2 isn't as fun as before. Maybe its because pressing beats for too long made me somewhat sick of it? It might be a reason, but I came up with another logical reason. Patapon 1 was rather simple, yet it was fun and enjoyable. It was straightforward, understandable, and tactics when fighting could be employed more successfully.

Patapon 2 added quite a lot of things, and I feel that it made the game relatively bloated. There were a bit too many combinations of Patapons to evolve, too many materials to keep track of, and I realised that I actually missed out many commands that I should already have. 20 missions into the game, I should have 2 more commands and 1 more miracle. Basically, it added a level of exploration, where you will not be led to the things you need to progress. You have to find it. I don't think that level of difficulty fits Patapon.

Anyway, despite all that, its a game worth playing.
